Solar Car Challenge Event Update 2026-4
Teams taking part in the 2026 Solar Car Challenge "Cross-Texas Driving Adventure" need to have a Texas License "Plate." Race Staff will secure this license plate for teams, but we need a Certificate of Liability Insurance from your team no later than June 1, 2026. Liability InsuranceRule 7.4 provides: Liability - Teams will be required to sign a Release of Liability Form prior to admission to the event. Proof of Vehicle Liability Insurance will also be required at the time of Team Check-In. On cross-country event years, teams must submit their Proof of Vehicle Liability Insurance no later than June 1st. Many schools may help teams secure a Certificate of Liability Insurance under the school’s "umbrella" insurance policy. That Certificate should look like the sample attached. If you are not able to secure liability insurance through your school, we have some wonderful friends at the Frederikson Agency in Dallas that have made it possible for your team to buy a Liability Insurance Policy through Philadelphia Insurance. Please note that the Solar Car Challenge receives no benefit from your purchasing insurance through the Frederikson Agency. We provide this only as a resource. Banquet TicketsThe Solar Car Challenge offers two outstanding banquet opportunities for participants.
A banquet ticket provides admission to both banquets. Tickets purchased prior to Team Check-In are $65/person. Tickets purchased at Team Check-In will cost $70. Tickets purchased at "the door" are $100. All ticket sales are final with no refunds. Most importantly, please let me know TODAY how many people you expect to bring to these banquets. Attachments:
