Solar Car Challenge Information

Good Afternoon Solar Car Challenge Teams,

(1) I want to encourage teams to review the materials set out in the 2026 Race Information website link. Please be sure to review the two videos which help you prepare for the 2026 "Cross-Texas Adventure." https://www.solarcarchallenge.org/challenge/route2026.shtml

(2) I want to encourage you to devote sufficient time testing your vehicle before you arrive at this year's racing event. This includes: (a) putting 500 miles on your solar car; (b) practice loading & unloading your solar car from the trailer; and (c) practice driving hills.

(3) Please be sure to develop a driving strategy based on your knowledge of the road ahead. This includes utilizing a topographic software program. You want to know the hills you plan to drive; you want to know the hills you plan to trailer over! Remember, you get to choose which miles you drive each day.

(4) We have posted the Team Profiles Page showing teams for the 2026 Solar Car Challenge. This is the largest high school solar car driving event ever held! https://www.solarcarchallenge.org/challenge/teams2026.shtml

(5) Race staff will begin to review your Official Registration Packets. I will be in contact with you if we need additional information.

(6) The Race Route Map is set out below.

Best regards,
