Event Update No. 8: Race Route (May 6, 2018)
Attached is the Official Race Route for the 2018 Solar Car Challenge. Race Officials reserve the right to make last minute changes based on unforeseen road or weather conditions. The Solar Car Challenge will provide a special "How-to-navigate-the Race" Workshop at 8:00 PM on Friday, July 13th. This workshop follows the required "All Team Meeting" scheduled at 7:00 PM at the DFW Marriott & Golf Club. Each team is required to send the following team members to this meeting: (1) Team Teacher/Advisor (2) Student navigator(s) (3) Driver of the Lead Car Recommendation: Teams should thoroughly study the race route, and prepare topographic maps for each day’s drive. Knowing the topography helps teams: (1) better understand the race day, and (2) decide which mountains to drive or avoid by trailering. Please Note: the race route should be used in conjunction with the Where-to-Be What-to-Do Document. A preliminary Where-to-Be document will be posted within a few days. Attachments:
