SCRUTINEERING BOOKLET
A copy of the 2016 Solar Car Challenge Scrutineering Booklet is published on the Solar Car Challenge web site. A copy is attached for your quick reference. http://www.solarcarchallenge.org/challenge/forms.shtml

(1) It is crucial that teams thoroughly work their way through the Booklet before they come to the Solar Car Challenge.

(2) Every question that will be asked during Scrutineering is set out in the booklet. It is extremely important that students are able to answer these questions without the help or coaching from teachers or other adults. Teams should have certain required documents with them during Scrutineering.

(3) Interruptions or Interference by teachers during the Scrutineering process will result in a team penalty.

(4) The Solar Car Challenge has a required Pre-Scrutineering Meeting scheduled for select team members at 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 14th. See the Where-to-Be What-to-Do Document for details.

TRAILERING - UNTRAILERING SKILLS
Teams will be required to demonstrate their skill both loading and unloading the solar car from their trailer. These are crucial skills during a cross-county race.
(a) Particular attention will be paid to the use of the Team Safety Officer to keep the team safe from on-coming traffic.
(b) Particular attention will be paid to the placement of orange safety cones and the Safety Officer's use of an orange warning flag.
(c) Teams should be able to quickly load/unload their solar car without students wandering into the flow of traffic.
