Good Morning Solar Car Racers,

I know that excitement must be building in anticipation of this year's Solar Car Challenge. This year's event will be the biggest cross-country event we've ever hosted!

Attached is the preliminary Where-to-Be What-to-Do document which will help you plan for this year's event. Items are likely to change before race day, but the overall "event footprint" is set.

As we pass the July 1st benchmark, teams need to double check the following:

1. Have we completed the Solar Car Challenge Release of Liability Form (requiring parent signatures), and the Texas Motor Speedway Release of Liability Form.
2. Have the chase vehicles been equipped with ECCO lights?
3. Have teams prepared for Scrutineering by doing their own pre-race evaluations using the sample scrutineering packet: http://www.solarcarchallenge.org/challenge/forms.shtml

Please remember that all race participants must be at Team Check-In scheduled between 4:00 - 7:00 PM, Saturday, July 20th. Drivers must bring their driver's license with them at Team Check-in. Failure for participants to attend will result in a team financial penalty.

All race participants must also be at the Race Orientation Meeting scheduled for 7:00 PM in the ballroom at the DFW Marriott Hotel. We will be going through the day-to-day operations of the race which will be crucial for team planning.
